What’s Ahead for Sitecore?
With [A]’s focus on multichannel structured content reuse, we are excited about upcoming releases of Sitecore including Sitecore 9.0 (release date expected in 2018).
Sitecore continues work on xConnect, the evolution of Sitecore’s xDB. xConnect will allow customer experiences wherever they happen to write directly to the Experience Database. This gives us the ability to deeply map customer interactions through every device and channel, whether Sitecore-delivered or independent.
Headless Sitecore with the OData Content API with Personalization -- at [A] we already provide content APIs for content as a service and other syndication scenarios from within Sitecore. But the next generation will pave the way for bi-directional personalization interactions through an even richer API framework. This provider model enables Sitecore to be used in a truly ‘headless’ mode, while still enabling realtime content targeted and other forms of personalization leveraging xDB.
