Carrie Hane

Curious. Connected. Practical. Able to leap mountains of content in a single bound.

Maybe not a single bound. But I do make mountains of content turn into manageable hills. I help solve the problem of how to manage and coordinate large amounts of content across divisions by coordinating the people, processes, and systems to build efficient content operations. The result is flexible, extensible, scalable, and efficient content ecosystems to support omnichannel publishing and audience engagement.

20 years of experience leading cross-disciplinary teams as an employee and as a consultant allows me to address the content and customer experience challenges faced by every company, non-profit, association, and higher education institution in the digital era.

I’ve done the research into how organizations are implementing content strategy through the Association Content Strategies for a Changing World study commissioned by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Foundation. The 2019 report includes the Association Content Strategy Maturity Model.

I literally co-wrote the book detailing a framework for making content ready for the next wave of platforms and devices. Designing Connected Content: Plan and Model Digital Products for Today and Tomorrow was published by New Riders in 2018.

Since 2011, I have been a guest on numerous podcasts and lead workshops and presented at events from Seattle, Washington, to Lisbon, Portugal, and lots of places in between and beyond.

I’ve also been a guest lecturer for undergraduate and graduate courses in user-centered design and content strategy. Now I’m ready to lead content operations for a mission-driven, socially responsible organization or agency with those types of clients.
